The Al Faris Community Center: A Legacy Of Service & Hope

In the heart of Madale, Tanzania, 30 km from Dar es Salaam, stands a beacon of hope and community: the Al Faris Community Center. As one of the most impactful community centers in Tanzania , it encompasses 150 square meters and is more than just a building—it is a testament to the power of giving and the enduring legacy of one young man life.

The Abuzahra family established the Al Faris Community Center in memory of their beloved son, Faris Suhil, who tragically passed away at just 25 years old. With its mosque, school, and artesian water well, the center meets the spiritual and physical needs of over 2,000 residents in the local area.

Faris was a kind-hearted and dedicated soul, known for his work with the homeless and disadvantaged in Rutherford County and his commitment to his studies at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he was pursuing a doctorate in pharmacology. Those who knew him remember his kindness, humility, and tireless spirit of service. His life was one filled with gratitude and resilience—qualities that live on in this shining example of charity projects Africa can be proud of.

In just a few days, the Al Faris School, a dedicated academy for Quranic education, will open its doors to hundreds of eager students, serving the community for generations to come.
