Director Of Development
Position Overview
Our nonprofit organization is dedicated to making a positive impact on African communities by providing essential services and support to those in need. We rely heavily on fundraising to sustain our programs and services, and we are seeking a Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts. Position Overview: The Director of Development will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop fundraising goals and strategies and will manage a team of fundraising professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals.
- Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors.
- Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.
- Manage and lead a team of fundraising professionals, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials.
- Work closely with the President and Executive Director to develop fundraising strategies and goals.
- Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.
- Be primarily responsible for the implementation of Africa Relief and Community Development strategy plan.
- Ensure the coordination, support, and oversight of all key elements of the development strategy including, staff, information, marketing, special events.
- Provide direct leadership and technical support to a team working with major donors in various regions of the United States.
- Work with the CEO and President to generate realistic fundraising targets as part of the budgeting process.
- Provide regular and realistic updates to the CEO and President on fund raising trends and performance.
Qualifications
- CRM or donor database experience preferred.
- Experience assessing and implementing system and policy protocols preferred.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Extremely detail oriented.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of donor information.
- Ability to independently manage priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with individuals of various ages, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities.
- Ability and aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite and other technology necessary for successful day-to-day functioning in a business environment. Advanced knowledge of Excel is a plus.
- Ability to work unsociable hours during peak campaigns.
- Ability to communicate in Arabic and English.
- Must clear nationwide criminal background check and driving record background check.
