More than 1.34 billion people across Africa (over 90% of the continent) live without reliable access to safe water. The consequences reach far beyond thirst: children miss school, women lose hours of their day, and preventable diseases claim thousands of lives each year.
Clean Water is a basic necessity for life. Since 2019, ARCD has constructed over 2,300 water wells across Africa, restoring health and dignity to the continent's most vulnerable rural communities.

Transforming lives through access to essential resources and support.
Delivering clean, safe water to communities in need.
Mobilizing vital resources to maximize community impact.
Across Africa, access to safe water is still out of reach for many communities impacting health, education, and daily life, especially for women and children.

Across Africa, the daily struggle for water robs women of their agency and children of their education. When 1.34 billion people lack safe water, the result is more than just thirst; it is a leading cause of mortality via waterborne diseases. For many families, "access" means walking for hours every day, a burden that prevents women from pursuing economic opportunities and keeps children out of the classroom.

In many rural communities across Sub-Saharan Africa, collecting water is the responsibility of women and girls. The average household may spend three to six hours every day traveling to and from a water source, often a shared, unprotected riverbank or hand-dug hole that serves an entire village.
We go beyond short-term relief creating reliable water systems and sanitation solutions that improve health, restore dignity, and support communities for years to come.

For many communities, clean water is still far from home.
A water well can change that. It gives children more time for school, helps families protect their health, and brings dignity to daily life.
You can dedicate a Water well with us. Africa Relif has already built 2300+ water wells across Africa. Your gift can help bring the next one to a community still waiting.

Construction of latrines and handwashing stations
Community hygiene education campaigns
Formation and training of community water and hygiene committees
Ongoing support for facility maintenance and ownership
